  Jack Buck Sports Awards

About the Awards

Jack Buck is a name that resonates with all St. Louis sports fans and most sports fans around the nation. At the Missouri Athletic Club, he is honored each year as local sports figures receive an award in his name.

Originally named MAC Sport’s Personality of the Year Dinner, the event was created by Jack Buck who acted as Master of Ceremonies for the first 32 dinners. He made the event a highlight on the St. Louis sports calendar with his contributions. His final public appearance was at the 2001 Sports Personality of the Year Dinner. On Dec. 10, 2002, the name of the dinner was officially changed to The Jack Buck Sports Awards. The annual banquet has aired on KMOX Radio every year since its inception in 1970.
