Director of Junior Tennis
Max Shapiro serves the Missouri Athletic Club’s tennis program as its Director of Junior Tennis. He is primarily responsible for developing clinics and classes for tots through college players. He has a reputation for running the latest tennis drills, punctuality and organization, and a knack for serving, volleying, and math.
Background & Experience
Max joined the MAC staff in November 2009 and was promoted to the Director of Junior Tennis position in March 2017. He brought more than 20 years of tennis experience to the position, including seven years of coaching. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri – St. Louis in political science.
Looking towards the future, Max is excited to continue teaching the MAC’s youth lifetime skills that can be used on and off the tennis courts.
Max is a native of St. Louis and a graduate of Clayton High School. When not instructing tennis, he still enjoys the game and anything else competitive, including golf and bowling. He supports local sports teams such as the Blues, Cardinals, and Mizzou Tigers.
