ST. LOUIS, MO - April 22, 2026 - The Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) is proud to announce the opening of MAC Clayton, a dynamic new amenity designed to meet the evolving needs of today’s professionals. Located in the heart of Clayton’s thriving business district, this third MAC location offers a modern, highly curated extension of the Club experience, bringing together fitness, dining, co-working, and social connection in one central setting.
Conceived as a refined amenity clubhouse, MAC Clayton complements the Club’s historic Downtown Clubhouse and expansive West Clubhouse. With a more focused footprint, the space is designed to deliver a flexible, elevated experience, serving as both a productive daytime retreat and a sophisticated social destination.
“The Missouri Athletic Club has proudly served the St. Louis community for more than 120 years, and we’re thrilled to build on that legacy with the addition of the Clayton amenity,” says Donald “Chip” Misch, CCM, General Manager and Chief Operating Officer for the Missouri Athletic Club. “With thriving clubhouses Downtown and in West County, this new offering answers a clear need voiced by our members and stakeholders. It allows us to expand our reach and deliver greater value to our current membership, while welcoming new members into the fold,” Misch added.
MAC Clayton will serve as a professional and social hub, featuring:
The expansion reflects strong member demand and strategic growth opportunities. Recent surveys indicate that a significant majority of members expressed interest in a Clayton location, citing the need for convenient meeting space, flexible work environments, and elevated weekday dining.
“Members can look forward to a well-balanced mix of updated finishes while preserving many of the location’s original features,” says President Michael J. Kozeny. “This new amenity is an important step in our ongoing commitment to evolve and meet the dynamic needs of our membership.”
Clayton’s central location further reinforces this vision. With more than 2,000 businesses and over 40,000 professionals in the immediate area, the district provides an ideal setting for a business-focused Club experience.
“We always prioritize our members, and they made their voices heard,” says Jodi Petersen, Past President. “This initiative reflects the strength and vision of the MAC community. Clayton and Pierre Laclede Center are the perfect next step for MAC. We couldn’t be more excited to open our third location.”
MAC Clayton will operate under a strategic, opt-in membership model, ensuring an exclusive and highly personalized experience. MAC Clayton has met its initial projected capacity of 800 members and currently has a waitlist, with the ability to expand to 1,000 members in the future.
